ALPINESTARS TECH-AIR OFF-ROAD AIRBAG SYSTEM RED

Tech-Air® Off-Road is an FIM-approved airbag system designed specifically for the rigours of rallying, providing unrivalled upper body protection. Developed and tested in the harshest conditions of the Dakar Rally, the world’s toughest off-road race, since 2017, the Tech-Air® Off-Road system offers the most advanced active airbag technology for off-road driving.
The Tech-Air® Off-Road system with inflated active airbag provides full CE Level 1 chest and back protection, as well as protection for the shoulders, neck and collarbones in the event of an accident. The system is integrated into the Alpinestars Off-Road Protection jacket, which has Level 1 passive protection for the back and limbs, integrated protection on the arms and Level 2 passive protection for the chest, giving the rider better protection against rocks, debris and other obstacles he may come into contact with on the trail. The system is designed for all terrain riding and has three riding modes: ENDURO, RALLY and STREET, making it the perfect choice for all types of road and off-road riding.

TECH-AIR® OFF-ROAD MODE: ENDURO, RALLY AND STREET
The Tech-Air® Off-Road System provides protection in ENDURO, RALLY and STREET modes, including barrier impacts and loss-of-control crashes (commonly referred to as “low-side” and “high-side” crashes).

ENDURO mode is optimised for low to medium speed riding where the user rides on unprotected surfaces such as gravel, riverbeds, mud and other natural terrain. Typically, these driving scenarios involve several changes of direction and overcoming obstacles and climbs at low speeds.

RALLY mode is optimised for fast off-road courses on any terrain and is recommended for rides characterised by longer straight sections with more bumps and different types of terrain to be tackled at high speeds, which is difficult in typical enduro events. Typical environments in which these riding scenarios occur are mainly characterised by desert terrain (with dunes and sandy soils), gravel and open landscapes.

STREET mode is optimised for asphalted roads and takes into account situations where the driver’s motorcycle hits another vehicle while stationary.

MAIN FEATURES OF THE TECH-AIR® OFF-ROAD DRIVING SYSTEM

Tech-Air® Off-Road is the first airbag system specifically designed for off-road driving, with three driving modes: ENDURO, RALLY and STREET.

You can also easily change the driving mode while driving by pressing a button on the LED display on the front of the system or via the Tech-Air® app.

The Tech-Air® OFF-ROAD system has dual inflators, which means that with two inflators full, the system allows two separate airbag deployments, so that in the event of an accident, only one inflator is activated to inflate the entire airbag system.

Opening the quick-release cover allows quick inflator replacement by the user (only available in countries where local regulations allow inflator replacement by private persons).

Fully autonomous and independent system; 3 accelerometers (1 tri-axial accelerometer) and 3 gyroscopes (1 tri-axial gyroscope) are integrated in the Electronic Control Unit (ECU), ensuring the best crash monitoring performance and active airbag protection in different dynamic off-road driving scenarios. No external sensors are required for the system to operate.

The Tech-Air® OFF-ROAD system uses an integrated and certified lithium-ion battery with a full charge autonomy of 30 hours and a charge time of approximately 4 hours; if you charge the battery for approximately one hour, you can use it on the engine for approximately eight hours.

The LED display is equipped with a built-in charging port, which makes charging the system convenient and easy. Simply plug the USB-C cable into the charging port of the LED display system and connect it to a power source.

Easy to use: to activate the Tech-Air® Off-Road System, simply close the system’s zipper and it will automatically deploy and activate the airbag system. To deactivate the airbag, open the zip and the system will automatically deactivate.

There is a special slide switch on the control unit for the sending mode, which puts the system into sleep mode when switched on. The dispatch mode switch is only accessible when the rear protective cover is removed and allows the battery to be disconnected from the system.
