ALPINESTARS TECH-AIR 7X AIRBAG

Specifically developed for road racing, daily track use and high-performance road riding, the FIM-approved Tech-Air® 7x system is derived from Alpinestars’ proven MotoGP airbag technology. The fully autonomous, self-contained motorcycle airbag system is designed for racing and offers riders the streamlined, low-profile and highly breathable protection of Tech-Air®. Developed for performance/recreational motorcycle riding, the Tech-Air® 7x system provides riders with comprehensive upper body protection, covering the shoulders, chest and entire back. The built-in back protection is extended for additional protection of the heel bone. The Tech-Air® 7x system can be used as a stand-alone system or as an integrated system in a compatible suit or jacket. The system is designed for indoor racing as well as road and light off-road riding.

The state-of-the-art Tech-Air® 7x wearable system is equipped with an active electronic system with twelve built-in sensors: three triaxial accelerometers (1 on the back protector and 2 on the shoulders) and 1 triaxial gyroscope (in the back protector). These sensors monitor the rider’s body in the event of impacts or unexpected movements. Through years of research with over 50% of the world’s leading MotoGP riders and Alpinestars customers riding Tech-Air® systems, our team has analysed ride data from millions of kilometres and thousands of crashes to continuously improve the intelligent algorithms of the crash detection system. When a crash is detected, which occurs when the driver’s body is exposed to a large and/or sudden amount of energy, the algorithm triggers the deployment of a protective airbag that provides unsurpassed protection to the driver or passenger wearing the system (with a maximum inflation time of 44 ms, depending on the size of the airbag). The impact absorption when wearing an inflated Airbag results in a reduction of up to 90% in the force of the impact, compared to the passive protection of CE Level 1.

TECH-AIR® 7X DRIVING MODES: RACE AND STREET
The Tech-Air® 7x system comes pre-equipped with two different driving modes: the RACE mode for driving on closed race tracks and the STREET mode for driving on streets and light terrain. Users can easily switch between Race and Street modes using the Tech-Air® app. The system should always be used in Street Mode when driving on public roads and NOT on a closed circuit. Drivers should remember to switch from Race Mode to Street Mode when they finish driving on the racetrack and leave the track to ensure full protection, even when stopped at traffic lights, intersections or for any reason. Airbag protection during stops is only provided by the Street Mode algorithm.

Dual inflator option
The Tech-Air® 7x system has a dual inflator option, which means that with two full gas inflators, the system allows two separate airbag deployments. The gas inflators can be replaced by the user.
